About
Our Story
For many people, toys are a way to feel comforted, understood and represented. But for those who live with medical aids, disabilities or differences, toys rarely reflect the realities of their bodies or experiences.
True-To-Me Toys was inspired by someone with a complex medical history who relied on medical aids that made them feel different. They attended countless hospital appointments and surgeries with at least one soft toy by their side – and yet, that soft toy never reflected their own body or lived experience. It felt important that it finally could.
So True-To-Me Toys was born to gently change that by making medical equipment – from mobility aids to sensory and communication tools. Not to medicalise play, but to normalise difference and offer recognition.
